Dance Poetry

I teach a workshop titled Poetry In Motion where I weave dance with words. I love poetry and encourage my students to write poetry about their dance which I will post on this page. Please feel free to contribute.
Here is a poem written by a man who attends the group classes regularly:
Joy (by T.Z.)
As I wake to the dance,
That I Am,
Speaking in fluidity,
It fills my heart’s open spaces,
and sets my motion free.
Now this freedom’s bending,
Points a way for dreams to be.
We step the circle of wakeful dreaming,
It fills our heart’s open spaces.
Now this freedom’s bending,
Points a way for us to see,
In group as one our footsteps fill
Your floor with laughter so joyfully.
